smoothie kick

I've been on a smoothie kick lately. It's such a tasty way to have a super healthy start to the day. Today was pineapple&coconut, yesterday was strawberry&banana. I also add a big scoop of "greens" (a powder with just about every veggie), plain yogurt, and rice milk. Mmmm. Do you smoothie?

  1. I make them for the kids at least 3 days a week for breakfast or a snack. Where do you get this green powder? I think my little monsters could use the extra veggies.

  2. Sarah - I swear by this super green powder AND they make a kids version that's chocolate flavor, so you mix it with milk and they gulp it down. It's called "Green Vibrance" and the kids version is called "Kidz Superfood" by Amazing Grass. I get them both at Whole Foods and I notice a HUGE difference. Plus, Ruby gets an entire days worth of greens in one glass, so I don't stress when she doesn't eat all her veggies. I just rambled, sorry.
    How's Form coming along??

  4. I don't smoothie, but I really need to start. I almost never have breakfast... Couldn't I assemble the ingredients in a container the night before then just blend them in the morning? Mmmm green magic! Haha! I'm off to buy some frozen fruit!

  5. We do smoothies almost every morning. LOVE THEM!! My favorite was when Yoplait used to make these bags of frozen mixtures that included strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and vanilla frozen yogurt cubes. You'd add 1 cup of milk and that's it - no ice. They were absolutely delish. Sadly I don't think they're making them anymore.

  7. I make a smoothie/protein shake every morning, but just recently started throwing vegetables in too.

This morning I put two big handfuls of spinach in and you can't even taste it. Definitely a good way to get your veggies down.

  8. hi Amber
I don't really smoothie but I veggie with my juicer... carrots, beets, kale, etc. I'm getting kind of bored with it. maybe the smoothie with a scoop of "greens powder" will be my new thing... thanks for the inspiration.
    loving your blog!

  10. Our family does smoothies every day. We burn through blenders like crazy. We just bought a Vita-Mix machine and it is amazing. With a seven year warranty too, just in case we burn it out. Enjoy your healthful drinks!
