One thing that became clear this holiday season was my lack of just-the-right-size cookware, it seemed each one was either too small or shallow. Le Creuset seems to be the ultimate in cookware, the big daddy of dutch ovens and by far the best color options around. I'd like to start my own
collection, maybe a piece a year (they're pricey, but worth it). The big question is whether to stick with one color or mix it up? Love the
caribbean blue and the new
casis!
Oh you will not be sorry...they are so worth the money. I got the blue carribean (by the way) last Christmas and I LOVE it and want more!!!!! I also like the creamy white color. They cook so nice and clean so well. I just need more ideas of what to cook in it!

Oooh, the lilac and cassis are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI totally see the appeal of buying all in one colour, but I love the Caribbean blue and kiwi both too much to choose just one.
Ugh, I just LOVE this photo. The caribbean blue le creuset cookware has always been my favorite, but I definitely think you could mix colors if you wanted. Just depends what effect you want to go for. And you should most certainly go for it.
ReplyDeleteI like the photo too. That's an awesome little wee kitchen.
ReplyDeletewhat a fabulous kitchen. I LOVE those bowls!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend's mom (a really great chef and interior decorator) swears by Le Creuset. It's all she will use!
ReplyDeleteI say stick to one color. The colors are all enticing but once you have a collection one color looks best.
ReplyDeleteWe started our collection a few years ago in Flame. Love the color and the cookware. I use my small Dutch oven a few times a week. A casserole dish is currently on my wishlist!
i would say get different colors in the same family. Otherwise you run the risk of them discontinuing your color, and the price of used skyrocketing... just from a vintage collector's perspective.
ReplyDeleteI have been collecting Sonoma Green for a few years now, birthdays, christmas, etc. and it works much better than buying it all at once because you really know which pieces you are missing--just got the casserole pan for xmas! My husband says I should have picked a color that they carry at the outlet in Vacaville...oops!
ReplyDeleteI love that kitchen, ahhh!
ReplyDeletethere's really nothing better than getting a bunch of new cookware and putting it to the test! have fun!

Love this photo!
ReplyDeleteI say, treat it like Fiesta Ware. Mix it up! The only constant color from LC is the "flame" (orange/volcano) color. This is their original color from 1925. The rest, including WS's green and it's recently discountinued blue, change through the years. Lavendar and Casis are available only through Sur La Table in the U.S.
ReplyDeletei saw mix it up! it will help you identify which one was perfect for that tortilla soup you made last time. (you'll remember you made it in the red, not the mid-sized orange). just a suggestion!
